I bought this for my partner who is getting in to wood carving i will say all the pieces look to be high quality. I understand that I bought scraps so I shouldn’t have been surprised when most of the pieces in the box i was sent were strips but looking at other peoples’ reviews I was expecting majority carvable pieces. I guess he can work on detail work on the strips but not really useful for carving shapes like i thought i was buying.

Exactly what I needed. A lot of small pieces in different sizes. I needed them for small boxes I make, and these came with an excellent selection of wood in different sizes and shapes. For me it is perfect. Make sure when looking that what you want are smaller cuttoffs- thin slats, small 3x3ish squares, small 3-5" long blocks, irregular shapes etc.
